Here’s a snapshot of our two agencies who are dedicated to reducing homelessness through affordable housing…
Habitat for Humanity Greater Kingston & Frontenac is one of 69 affiliates of Habitat for Humanity Canada: a national, non-profit, faith-based
organization working for a world where everyone has a safe and decent place to live. The mission of the organization is to mobilize volunteers
and community partners to build affordable housing, and promote homeownership as a means to break the cycle of poverty. By working with volunteers
and community partners, Habitat for Humanity Kingston & Frontenac has placed 13 families in homes throughout Kingston since the affiliate was
founded in 1994.
Home Base Housing is a not-for-profit organization that has been providing a range of supportive housing and housing-related services in Kingston
since 1987. We offer housing opportunities and support to individuals, aged 16 and over, who are homeless or unable to remain in an unsafe situa-
tion. Home Base Housing develops and manages a range of safe, affordable housing, emergency shelters and support services to meet the needs of
youth, adults and families at risk of homelessness in the Kingston area. Our staff work to help tenants live independently, and with their
approval, we welcome and encourage other professionals and family to become involved in the process.
