Service

In order to get a telephone, you’ll be required to show two pieces of identification: either two major credit cards or two pieces of government ID (driver’s license or birth certificate). Health cards are NOT considered as an acceptable form of identification.

If phone jacks exist in the apartment, the hook-up service fee and will appear on the first bill. There is standard monthly fee for  touch-tone service, plus the cost of a phone if you do not have one. Long-distance & all other features are extra.

A fee applies for EACH service required (water, electricity, gas, and sewer).
A Security Deposit is required on accounts. However, if one of the following is provided, no deposit is necessary:

1) Letter of reference from another electricity or gas provider. Letter must be received 45 days prior to date of service required and must cover the previous 24 months.

OR

2) A satisfactory Credit Check, at your expense, covering the past 3 years. This check must be received 45 days prior to the date of service required.

The deposit will be billed in quarterly installments, starting with the first quarter on the date of service and will appear on the first bill. The following three-quarters will be applied over the following three bills. For more information, please contact Utilities Kingston.

Canada Post - Change of Address

You need to complete a change of address at least 10 days prior to your move. Forms are available at your local postal outlet. You will begin to receive mail at your new address 5 to 10 days after the effective date change.
