Home Base Housing is a not-for-profit organization that has been providing a range of supportive housing in Kingston since 1987. The housing programs of Home Base Housing are open to single adults with a range of life experiences and challenges. These may include homelessness, financial issues, substance abuse, mental health issues, developmental disabilities, head injuries, or physical disabilities.
We offer housing opportunities and support to individuals, aged 16 and over, who are homeless or unable to remain in an unsafe situation. Our staff work to help tenants live independently, and with their approval, we welcome and encourage other professionals and family to become involved in the process.
In addition to our Supportive Housing and Kingston Youth Services programs, Home Base Housing offers housing information through our Housing Help Centre at 540 Montreal St. We also run two emergency shelters: In From the Cold at 540 Montreal St. and Lily’s Place at 333 Kingscourt Avenue. We run a Housing First program which assists those who are chronically homeless to secure housing and a Prevention Diversion program whose staff work to keep people housed to avoid the necessity of them using the shelter system.
Home Base Housing develops and manages a range of safe, affordable housing, and emergency shelter and support services to meet the needs of youth, adults, and families at risk of homelessness in the Kingston area.
Home Base Housing is a community leader in providing and advocating for safe, affordable housing and necessary supports for individuals at risk of homelessness.
